This rug, partially destroyed during the fire had been in my family for many years. The day before the fire I had folded and placed it under my printing press. In the fire it had burned along the folded edge and was essentially useless as a rug. I had taken a video while the fire raged and later noticed an easel next to the building. On the top of the easel what looked like a bird was actually the clamp. This was the inspiration for a murmuring of starlings. I infilled a blue sky and created a felted and beaded fire to indicate hope and recovery from the most horrific event in my life.
