Join me this summer for art instruction in a peaceful garden
There's always something to sketch or paint in the Black Hills!
This summer join me in my peaceful backyard for a variety of classes.
Travel Journals: I have maintained my sketchbook practice for many years, and you can be the recipient of my experiments when we try out a variety of media and approaches! We will start in my garden and venture out into the Hills to work on location if there is an interest.
Monotype: An Introduction to Non-toxic printmaking!
Monotype is an easy and stress-free approach to printmaking which gives immediate results! Many of the technical elements of printmaking are avoided which allows students to relax and enjoy the various effects that are possible with this straightforward process.
In this class you will become familiar with how a monotype is created through subtractive and additive processes as you experience its forgiving nature.
Please refer to images in my portfolio, many of which are monotypes.
Drawing and Painting on Location:
What better place to create paintings and drawings than the Black Hills? Lovely locations abound! We will have a preliminary session to line out materials and get you feeling comfortable for the adventure! Then we'll plan the day and time and carpool to a predesignated location.
In general I teach with the foundation of many art practices: drawing, color theory, and composition. I also teach watercolor, printmaking, drawing, and mosaics. With over 30 years of teaching I have honed my approach to be gentle and encouraging.
Please email me with your interests and I will add you to my mailing list.
